We love Date Night!!
Date nights are so important and often forgotten when our kids are little but since our boys are teenagers we have a couple nights a week when they aren't home. The Chef and I try to be creative and cook something new or cook things the kids wouldn't eat when we do date night at home.
The menu for this date night is:
Filet with blue cheese butter
Buttery delicious grilled Lobster
Sweet potatoes with cayenne pepper
Baked okra.
{and a little wine!}

Earlier in the day Chef and I went to an Arts and craft fair and then wandered through the farmers market, we scored some tomatoes, sweet potatoes and got a great deal on Okra. The farmer told us how she likes to cook her Okra in the oven as a healthy alternative to fried Okra... { We all eat fried Okra right?} mmmmmm.... Nothin' better! But since we are trying to eat healthy we decided to give the new Okra recipe a try.....
Everything was beyond delicious and I will definitely eat the Okra again!!

Here is the picture from our dinner.
I'd love to hear if you've ever had the baked okra or if you have any favorite healthy alternatives!
Thanks for stopping by the front porch swing.
Come back soon!
Okra is good! Yummy dinner all the way! Yep wish I could have barged in on your date night! (a little awkward) :0)
